Q. What are the present courses being conducted in recent times by DTI ?
Ans. We are now conducting three (3) courses simultaneously:
- Diploma in Automobile Engineering under IMI, Chennai.
- Post Diploma in Automobile Engineering under IAE, Chennai
- Post Diploma in Business Management under IBM, Chennai
Q. Can you give the duration details of each course?
Ans. Duration for Diploma in Automobile Engineering is Two (2) years, for Post Diploma in Automobile Engineering is One (1) year after completion of Diploma course and for Post Diploma in Business Management is One (1) year after Graduation.
Q. What is the minimum qualification required for Automobile Diploma Course?
Ans. Class 10 Pass Certificate in Diesel or Motor Mechanic is required.
Q. Does DTI award Certificates?
Ans. Certificates are awarded to successful candidates by IMI, Chennai for Diploma in Automobile Engineering, IAE, Chennai for Post Diploma in Automobile Engineering and IBM, Chennai for Post Diploma in Business management.
Q. Can I apply for jobs in Govt. Sector after completing the course of Automobile Engineering?
Ans. Yes, you can apply for jobs in every field, starting from Railway, Defense, Military Engineering Services, Aviation under State and Central Government as well as Private sector as Workshop Supervisor, Stores Supervisor, Sales Supervisor, Warranty manager, Insurance Valuer etc. Your certificate is accepted by Employment Exchange.
Q. Does DTI give Job Guarantee?
Ans. DTI does not give any job guarantee. DTI will arrange for preparing every student for facing interview boards by imparting them theoretical as well as practical knowledge so that we can reach our mission for 100% placement track record.
Q. Can I get Hostel at Durgapur?
Ans. Institute will arrange for messing facilities for outstation candidates at their own cost.
Q. What is the class schedule?
Ans. Classes are held for three days for each batch for 2 hours per day.
Q. Can I give examinations at Durgapur?
Ans.DTI is an authorized Test centre for the above said Courses.
Q. Is such course suitable for working professionals?
Ans. Modules of such Courses has been designed by keeping working professionals in mind. So, it will be their respective areas.
Q. Can working executives get any relaxation regarding course fee and class attendance?
Ans. Yes, they can get relaxation in Class Attendance, Flexible Timing for Classes as per their suitability and Course Fees according to the merit.
Q. Can I get Tuition on Sunday or holidays?
Ans. Yes, the Institute remains open in all days excepting Wednesday.
Q. Where does the Institute give practical training?
Ans. The Institute has got its own Workshop where students get the Preliminary training. After that, the students are sent to different renowned Workshops in and around Durgapur for On-Job Training. Some of the Centres are Asoke Leyland training Centre (Kolkata), S.B.S.T.C. (Durgapur), Jupiter Service Centre (Asansol), GMB (Asansol), Hero Honda, bajaj Workshops at Durgapur etc.
Q Is installment facility available for payment of Course Fees?
Ans. Yes, students are required to pay their Course fees in specified schedule given by the Institute Management.
Q. What is the minimum amount needed for Admission?
Ans. At the time of Admission, one student needs to pay Admission Fee: Rs. 4000/-, Form/ Prospectus Fee: Rs. 100/-, Uniform Charge: Rs. 850/- and Library Caution Deposit (Refundable): Rs 400/- i.e. Total Amount Rs 5350/-.
Q. Is Concession allowed for Needy Students?
Ans. Yes, Concession is allowed for needy students. For this purpose, the student is needed to apply for getting concession to the Managing Partners of the Institute. Decision for concession is completely under the discretion of the management.
Q. Is Uniform must for every student?
Ans. Yes, it is must for Diploma in Automobile Engineering Students.
Q. Is exemption allowed in Examinations?
Ans. Yes, exemptions are allowed as per the Rules & regulations of IMI, IAE and IBM, Chennai.
